Our AHD Expression boards have an on-point shape that combines a little length to improve planing and drive with a rocker line and hull that have been developed to make them responsive and easy to handle in the hardest of turns.
OSS Double Sandwich
With board weight from just 6,3 kg, we follow a unique manufacturing process during which all layers of fabric, reinforcements, and casings are applied in a double-shell mould. A one-shot sandwich (OSS) construction. Then baked in a process that allows for ideal polymerisation of resins for perfect reproduction and optimal weight/strength ratio. The resin used for our boards is a biosourced epoxy, SR GreenPoxy (more than 33% of the molecules come from plant sources).
We have deliberately kept a little length to provide support in the nose. It favours the start of acceleration and the inertia in slightly soft conditions. It is possible to lean more on the rig to unweight and release the liveliness of the board.
The Expression’s hull contains a meticulous work of multiple values: The V on the stern ensures maneuverability, a good pivot for carving and control at high speeds or in strong winds. A concave stretches the scoop line under the foot area to accelerate the shape. It evolves in a double concave V on the front third to free up the rail and increase maneuverability while maintaining acceleration and speed on the flat or in curves. Because the key to success in waves is speed!
The correct distribution of the rocker determines the behaviour of the board. Too flat, the board takes off early but does not turn or accept the drop. Too much shape and the board expresses itself only in the hollow of the wave, struggling to plane or to go fast. The right understanding makes the Expression a pure wave board that is fast, radical and timeless.
Expression is delivered in a Tri-fin set up, selected for priority to ultra reactivity (17 cm + 2 x 10 miniT). however, be aware the single fin trend seems to be back in Hawaii and in this field the Expression is well on top. Feel free to hide your lateral boxes and (re)discover the frank and precise support of the fine single fin.
