The wing foil harness
Why a leash belt in wing foil?
This allows you to have a leash less in the water to attach your board and especially you can put a harness hook in wing foil to sail with a harness and have more freedom in its movements and in its navigation. A harness will also provide some kind of assistance, on demand, on long edges in freeride for example. It will also stabilize the wing once it is hooked up and therefore allow for better performance when going upwind (less energy lost).
What type of harness?
Several types of harnesses exist. From the belt harness usable in kitesurfing or windsurfing with a metal buckle or the 3D printed buckle on a strap that simply takes at the lumbar. Because of the lower traction than in kitesurfing or windsurfing, we recommend the smaller wing harnesses, which are less expensive. Also, because of the many falls in wing foil, the 3D printed loops will be less likely to damage the board when you get back on it.
The AFS Leash Harness
We opted for a model with a really suitable design. More than a simple belt, we wanted a wider design all in neoprene to cover the entire surface of the lumbar region. The belt is simply closed with a stainless steel buckle. Different loops all along the belt allow to attach leashes of boards, wing,…It is possible to pass in the strap a harness loop. Finally, on the back of the belt, we have a large pocket with a zipper that allows you to insert, why not a screwdriver and its wedges to adjust its foil, or otherwise cereal bars, your cell phone waterproof, a small radio, it’s your choice.
